[YOUR ORGANIZATION] strongly opposes SB 649 which would represent a major shift in telecommunications policy and law. SB 649 would dramatically increase cell towers in our neighborhood’s and countrysides throughout California. SB 649 would harm Californians.

SB 649 would eliminate public input and local zoning authority with an over-the-counter permit process to install or modify cell towers. Refrigerator sized cell tower equipment would be deployed on and near utility and light poles.

SB 649 essentially deregulates the telecom industry. SB 649 abandons the public to trust the telecom industry to certify radiation safety.

SB 649 would increase harmful radiation. International independent scientists are calling for reducing RFR based on peer reviewed published science showing RFR harms the public and nature, and children are especially vulnerable. Studies found radiation causes a wide range of health impacts: “Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans.” There is more information on the adverse health effects of microwave radiation provided at the following link. https://www.emfscientist.org/

Before promulgating these studies as homogenus, you should read them entirely. There is significant conflicting data showing to the contrary of what you proclaim as harmful, especially the frequency, source, and proximity.
