My husband wants me to sleep with other men

My husband wants me to sleep with other men and sleep with me right afterwards
Sex at Dawn is an important work that answers many questions.

    By DAN SAVAGE

"My husband of eight years confessed to wanting to watch me with another man. I asked if he meant it. He said yes. I asked if he wanted me to set it up. He said yes. I found a guy, and he agreed to a full STD screening -- at my husband's suggestion and our expense -- so that we wouldn't have to use condoms.

I was worried about how my husband would feel. But he loved every minute of it -- he loved it a little too much.

My husband had sex with me after our "guest" left. I still had our guest's semen inside me. Is my husband gay? Is that what cuckolding is all about? He didn't touch the other guy, but what the fuck?

Spouse Expressing Concern Over Newly Disclosed Sexuality ("SECONDS")."

"Far from being an indication of homosexuality, your husband's turn-on goes back to the roots of male heterosexual experience," says Christopher Ryan, co-author of Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality. "Human beings evolved in very intimate groups where sex often involved multiple partners."

Before Ryan walks us through what's so straight about your husband dipping his dick in another man's spunk, SECONDS, let me get this off my chest: Sex at Dawn is the single most important book about human sexuality since Alfred Kinsey unleashed Sexual Behavior in the Human Male on the American public in 1948. Want to understand why men married to supermodels cheat? Why so many marriages are sexless? Why paternity tests often reveal that the "father" isn't? Read Sex at Dawn.

How fascinating that this "wonderful" book talks about sexuality that demeans women. Nowhere in this posting is any understanding of the fear and humiliation that this woman went through, only about male primacy as being "normal.".
How is it okay to promote this book on WACCO?

To answer your question, "How is it okay to promote this book on WACCO?", it's a 2 time New York Times bestseller. And the author of the article posted on Wacco is by Dan Savage and is from his very widely read Savage Love column. It was featured in Newsweek and NPR.

"Nowhere in this posting" is there an indication that the woman involved experienced any "fear and humiliation", though it's clear you, and many other women, would experience those emotions in that circumstance.

I've read the book and it's very interesting and sheds quite a bit of light on the origins of male sexuality (which is what the posted article was about), but much less light on female sexuality.

    Thanks Barry for your response.

The issue here for me is one of context. The posting simply listed the book and described in graphic detail the male's experience and promoted the book.

You (and Edward) could have introduced this book with sensitivity and context, keeping in mind how your female audience might experience it. But you didn't. Why?

Surely you are well read and follow the news such as the St, Paul's (elite prep school) scandal and countless other real-life examples of the objectification of women.

WACCO by its structure is able to introduce books like this that you/others feel are relevant. But you also have the opportunity and responsibility to serve ALL of your community by thinking through and presenting such material in a framework that lets everyone know that all of us in the community are valued and considered.

Sheesh! I'm female - I'm not offended. I think it sounds really interesting. Funny - I haven't participated on wacco for awhile - all the whining and "sensitivity" gets to me. Read the book! Maybe you're right. And maybe not. It's good to be open to new ideas and thicken your skin. Just my 3 cents...

Edward simply reposted an article as it was originally introduced. No doubt both Edward and Dan Savage's (the author) intent was to be controversial and a bit shocking to create interest and interaction. Apparently it worked.

I suppress many of Edward's (and a few other's) reposts as being in poor taste or otherwise not appropriate for wide distribution through our digest, but I decided to let this one go through because understanding our sexuality has been a topic of ongoing interest on WaccoBB. Admittedly it was only marginally appropriate. I generally do not add introductions to other people's posts.

Again, if you read the opening quote by the woman in the article, she was concerned about what was happening with her husband and didn't express any negativity, resistance to his desires nor did she find it demeaning.

Mind blowing interview, David. Thank you!

This interview won't let you do anything else because it is simply too captivating. It lasts about an hour and ten minutes or so and it is well invested, illuminating, and fascinating. Don't miss it.
