    Sprint (Credo) Mobile Service?

was wondering if anyone who has Sprint mobile could tell me how reception is around Santa Rosa area and elsewhere, and how their customer service is...
I am thinking of switching to Credo Mobile, which gives part of their profits to progressive causes...however , they lease their service from Sprint..
    thanks

I just got service with them. I like the company. Great customer service so far. Not enough personal experience to tell you about the reception, but under plans on their website they have an interactive Sprint coverage map. Or click here.

    Re: Sprint (Credo) Mobile Service?

I am a Credo customer in Santa Rosa, in the McDonald area, and I am not pleased with the Sprint coverage. In my home, it switches constantly back and forth from roaming to a Sprint tower, so my phone constantly beeps a change of coverage message.
At first, much of the time I couldn't get a call at my work desk, I would have to move to another place in my home, or outside. I believe I am in a bad spot, as the coverage seems fine in other parts of town. And, it seems to be better now in my home than when I first got the new service. As in, I now get one bar at my desk instead of zero. And, the phone does ring most of the time now, instead of messages just showing up with no ring. If you can check out a particular spot you will be much of the time, I would get a Sprint coverage phone there and see what you get. It is definitely not as good as the evil Verizon, which I had before. However, the customer service is fine, and I switched for the same reasons as you, to be a better Progressive.

Credo mobile supports great causes -- is way left of center. My Sprint reception has been fine in Sebastopol, as well as Santa Rosa and Healdsburg. So far, so good. It was a relief to switch to them. Also, REALLY good to get your money out of the big banks and into a local Credit Union -- huge statement -- around 660,000 have switched since OWS began. Feels great!!! :) :)

I switched from Verizon 4 years ago to Sprint. Much better customer service and excellent service everywhere except the back roads of Sebastopol.

Credo reception is great. I have had them for several years and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Credo's customer service/care is excellent, and spending your money with a nonprofit that gives to progressive causes rather than funding the Evil Empire is a great idea.

You might consider installing a cellular signal booster for your home if you need better reception there. The flip side is that will increase your exposure to cellular EMF.

Another option is using wi-fi calling, which is voice over IP (VOIP) running the call through a wi-fi base station or access point. Unfortunately, the only carrier in the area (to my knowledge) offering this service is T-Mobile. It also requires an Android phone (powered by Google!) which may be an issue for some. It does work very well, is economical because the wi-fi calls are free, and when the phone uses the wi-fi it turns off the cellular antenna.

Whatever you go with, be sure to use a headset, preferably one with a wire, so the cell handset is not up against your head. Remember that radiation energy decreases with the square of distance.

    Re: Sprint (Credo) Mobile Service?

I have been a Credo mobile customer with both "regular" and Android phones for over 3 years. I live in Sebastopol, up on Pleasant Hill near Elphick, and since my landline cuts in and out, so I did not have high expectations for my cell service. However, Sprint coverage here is not worse than my landline, so that's good, in my opinion.

Elsewhere, including Santa Rosa (many places), all around Sonoma and Marin Counties, LA, St. Louis, NYC, Boston, Chicago, and in and around the East, SF & South Bay areas, mostly great service. A few places have no service, but I hear that's for most providers, not just Sprint, in those areas (woodsy, mountainous areas, not near cell towers, etc.).

Great customer service. Highly recommend switching to Credo for BOTH landline long distance providing (I've been using them for that for over 25 years, since they were Working Assets and gave away Ben & Jerry's ice cream coupons when we referred friends to them!) and cell service. For cell service, they'll buy out your old contract, give you free or very low cost phones or you can pay for higher-end ones. I got a free Android 2.1 when I re-upped my contract because I hadn't gotten a new phone for over 2 years.

    Re: Sprint (Credo) Mobile Service?

I have Credo. I can't really give any feedback on the reception. But according to their map on their website it should be good. I think they have great customer service. Good people. And no more do you give your money to companies who use it to make your life miserable. Credo will buy out old contracts if you have one. Also if I recommend a new customer to them, I get $100. So if anybody out there wants to switch, you could get a hold of me, I could recommend you and we can split the $100. Here's another tip. Get on their mailing list for political actions. Every once in a while (regularly) they have offers for good deals if you start up with them. When I started they asked me if I had gotten an offer. I looked in my old trashed emails, found one from a few weeks before and I have 40% off for my first year.
