Hi,
I thought I would mention that I have performed two services for family members. You need to became a deputy marriage commissioner in whichever county the marriage will be performed. Anyone over 18 can perform one time as an officiant. It costs $133 in Sonoma County, and you must appear in person to get the permit (maybe even with the couple, not sure). Check out www.sonoma-county.org for more info.
It was really fun for me. Two years ago I officiated my brother's wedding at a large party at my mother's house, and last month I officiated my nephews wedding, who is a Navy Seal stationed in San Diego, where half the attendees were Vietnamese. Both times everyone present were amazed and very moved by how personal and intimate the ceremonies were. So, see if there is someone special in your world who can help you with this wonderful event. BTW...next month will be 20 years for myself and my husbandGood luck!

Hi,
I live in Sebastopol and perform wedding ceremonies, legally, all over California. My good friend, Korie lives in Monte Rio and also performs ceremonies. We are non-denominational ministers of a spiritual foundation (there is no licensing for ministers in California, only the county by county temporary license for "officiators" as one of your respondents mentioned) We both teach non-clergy to do weddings as well. I think Korie might be open to some gardening help, too. Please contact her at 707 583-3896.
Many Blessings and much happiness,
Angel Stork
(thank you, Bruce, for your kind endorsement!)
