Sarah Gurney invites residents to ride with her on Thursday, September 5. We'll leave from the downtown Sebastopol hub (next to the Rialto) at 9:15 in the morning. This free shuttle, number 24, is available to everyone and encouraged as a way of avoiding the traffic and parking difficulties currently found in our downtown area.
You can look up the schedules at Sonoma County Transit online to see the different sites where you can hop on and hop off. This is an ongoing project that keeps being developed for students, seniors and commuters. Your experience and feedback is strongly requested. Join us!
This progressive concept is sponsored and funded by the City of Sebastopol with help from Sonoma County Transit. Be part of the solution!
Thursday, September 5, 2019: Councilmember Sarah Gurney and Michele Linfante
Councilmember Sarah Gurney:
City Council Member Sarah Gurney is Sebastopol’s representative on the Sonoma County Transit Authority, the regional consortium of governmental agencies that works on policy for all manner of getting around: foot, bike, bus, car, train… As a bike-commuter in high school, college and during her first job, little did she know that she would spend so much time focusing on transportation issues! Eleven years ago, Sarah co-founded the Sebastopol Walks program as part of a dedicated team of volunteers who are still going strong. As a Council Member, she has worked to improve our local Shuttle. Alternative transportation is one of the six priorities of Cittaslow Sebastopol, another group she launched during her term in office. Want to know her more personally, ask her about strength training.
Michele Linfante:
Michele Linfante has worked in alternative political theater in San Francisco and she still consults and directs. In the City she was part of a large group of artists that challenged the Redevelopment Agency and helped create early guidelines for live-work space. She works locally with Map Your Neighborhood as a Ham radio operator for emergency preparedness and is seeking to recruit other HAMS. Ask her for her story about Main Stage West Theater on Main St.
