I want to point out that the flyer you probably received a week or so ago that called itself "Voter Information Guide for Democrats" is not put out by the Democratic Party, but rather just a piece of paid for campaign advertising.

Yes, I too had to read the fine print of this very official looking brochure which lists my polling place, has a big American bald eagle on it and supports the candidates and propositions generally endorsed by Democrats, with one large exception -- Efren Carrillo. The very fine print stated that the brochure was paid for by those candidates and proposition supporters with a * next to them. Carrillo was the ONLY one with a *. I doubt if environmentalist Lynn Woolsey, who is very liberal and strongly supports Rue Furch, and others on the document would appreciate being included with an endorsement for the developer-friendly Carrillo.
