**** Ducks at Roberts Lake are Starving**

Anyone that can go out to Roberts Lake.. the ducks are starving out there.. I got a email today asking for help,, and its urgent,, they dont get fed in winter,, many have been hit by cars.. and are injured on the side of the road.. a kind lady is going to get ahold of officials, to see if any of them can be placed in homes,, especially the injured ones.. please dont feed them bread,, it is not something ducks can survive on a treat is ok.. but she is taking 2 5gallon buckets and it is still not enough..
Please anyone that can buy duck food and the feed stores or chicken scratch.. and feed them ,, so they will stop going into the roads.. spring will soon be here..

Any donations for feed this gets expensive feeding them until spring is here.. send to

We will feed the ducks.. I buy feed for my chickens its like 14 bucks for 50 lb.. sack..
I will see what we can do to place the injured ones.. any suggestions greatly appreciated..

    This is AllAboard Animal Rescue,,

I delivered 100 pounds of chicken scratch and spread it out just before the dog park so from the south side headed north I was short food from the dog park inward 1/4 of the way.. so anyone that goes out to feed should start from the dog park and move inward.. we are trying to contact people about some hurt ones,, one is dead, the other one has a broken leg looks like,, then there are some that are lethargic. maybe lack of food or illness. but we are working on relocating maybe some of the ducks... to my place if city allows it.. I have a field flooded.. and has million frogs.. and bugs.. there are other ducks and geese other side of the fence.. maybe they would join them..I ran into a man there that word had gotten to him also.. all he had was parrot food,, and said it was better than bread.. thats all I can do.. my hands are very full lately.. . but dont want something to starve to death.. from others dumping there household ducks to try to make it.. wow there is alot of ducks and geese.. no one attacked me I was worried they would many have before,, they were very well behaved and appreciated my efforts.. thank you for $30.00 dollar donation from a very kind lady,, it will help to feed them until a solution can be made.

    AllAboard Animal Search and Rescue

P.S. I would like to apologize for my spelling errors I am getting older,, and used to be a champion speller,, not so much anymore.. please bare with me until I can figure out how to work spell check on wacco..

I live near Roberts Lake and would like to take in 2 or 3 of the ducks for insect control around our place. Apparently they are much better at that than chickens and no scratching.

How does one go about adopting these ducks? Is there any way to have them checked for disease? My neighbor with chickens would not be too happy about having a contagious poultry disease being brought to our enclave here.

Does anyone have any information about free or low-cost duck shelters? We have possums, foxes and a coyote around here, all of which would love a nice duck dinner. The "chicken coops" that the local feed stores carry seem far too flimsy to provide protection from a hungry carnivore. Any handy men/women who can build a duck shelter out there?

I am a par time fisherman and I spend alot if time at Roberts lake and it comes to mt attention that I have seen about 15-20 dead ducks and geese in the last month.I dont think they are starving to death,I know somebody is killing them.I went to the lake at 4:00 am yesterday morning it was very foggy and still dark .I was fishing off the end of the pier and her what sounded like someone hit a bat on a tree I didn't go look what it was but about 25min later 2 dead geese went floating by the pier.I am thinking about going down there to stake it out because it's sick to go murder defenceless birds when they are sleeping please if anyone hears anything please lrt me know.

Not sure how right it was, but I caught and brought home a muscovy duck a few years back from this area, near Latitudes Restaurant. Actually this duck was super friendly and practically crawled into the car! Apparently no one cares about whether they are removed or not, so I would think that if someone has a place for a duck or two that they could be removed? just gotta
