Greetings: Now that it has been "officially established" that our elders will bear the major brunt of the Covid19 chaos, threatening to commandeer hospital beds, ventilators, staff attention, etc., little else is needed for the mob psychology of our covert, ever-unchallenged ageist bigotry to rear its ugly head to a magnitude unseen in many decades.

Combined with our equally misguided youth obsession, we now have a recipe for colossal misunderstanding with consequences of tragic proportions.

Life is precious for every last one of us, and there is absolutely no realistic, meaningful way to measure one's worth in society by superficial simplistics of age, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, etc. No group should, in the name of civilized decency, be defined as "expendable". The euphoria of scapegoating might briefly salve our frustrations, yet will never get us to the truth of the situation nor the fully rational, constructive process sorely needed for resolution. This trend is more than disgusting or outrageous; its portent is literally frightening. It, alongside the very underpinnings of its crisis circumstances, are uncannily reminiscent of the early, developing years of Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime, with the only difference being the choice of victim.
