Loss of smell a symptom of Covid-19 exposure

This has been reported in numerous news sources in the past 24hrs and as far as I can trace it back came from a doctor with the UK health services who literally wrote the handbook in the UK for doctors treating Covid-19.

It seems ENT and other doctors in the UK had patients presenting with a sudden loss of smell (and to some extent taste) who ended up testing positive for Covid-19 while being otherwise asymptomatic. This may be an important warning sign that one is infected and carrier of the virus.
