An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power

A decade after AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH brought climate change into the heart of popular culture comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution.

Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes-in moments both private and public, funny and poignant-as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.

I saw "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power" last night and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! It's informative, inspiring and entertaining.

It's also interesting to see that Al Gore hasn't completely let go of his political ambitions. Given his commitment to fighting climate change which also entails fighting the big money interests that are corrupting the political establishment, I hope he runs in 2020! Or perhaps better yet, some candidate names him as their choice for EPA Administrator during the campaign.

Go see it to restore your hope and renew your commitment to working to limit climate change!

I saw the movie, too, Barry, but I think Al Gore "hasn't completely let go of his political ambitions" only in the sense that a recovering addict hasn't let go of his/her addiction, no matter how long he is away from it. He said he is a "recovering politician" and the longer he goes without being in politics, the less likely he is to become involved. I don't think he wants to be involved at all. He seems to be more effective working outside that sphere, free of the constraints that hobble politicians (Trump excepted of course).
A good and heartening movie, worth seeing IMO.

Haven't seen Al's newest screed. I was highly offended by inconvenient, as well as his response to hanging Chad's. The guy has no huavous. I enjoyed frankens joke, about how often he changes the stick up his butt. I hope he retires permanently to bluegrass. Some people have the privilege of politics, not deserved by gore.

    [Annotation from Barry:

    From Let Franken Be Franken!:

“Vice President Gore continued to show his commitment to the environment by announcing today that he is going to change the policy on the stick up his butt. Instead of replacing the stick every day with a new stick, the Vice President will keep the same stick up his butt for the rest of the administration. Evidently, this will save an entire rain forest.” ]
