Kim Atkinson-A great teacher and an asset to our community

Ever wanted to join a community of drummers seriously interested in learning Afro-Cuban rhythms? Kim Atkinson is an incredible teacher and an asset to our community! If there is a community music event, Kim is probably involved in some way. He gives his time generously and with loving energy. We recently were performing at Hardcore Coffee for their customer appreciation day. If you were there, you know it was incredible fun for all ages!
He is able to make complex rhythms understandable and get them into your body as well as your mind. I would recommend his teaching to anyone seriously interested in learning drumming.

Sound interesting? I invite you to join us On Thursday nights, we are currently working on High Life, Shiko, Afoxe, Ibo, Bembe, Zebula, and Calypso with the intention of perfecting them to performance level. We are a small class with some really great open minded people. Actually we are more than just a class. We have all become close friends. I prefer to call them my “Drum Tribe”. We usually have dessert after class and connect on what is going on in each other’s lives.
