    Gnarly "closet"

    Location:  Sebastopol
I have an unusable filthy unpainted wooden closet that I need to have restored and hopefully, made usable. Was built in the 70's.
Looking for advice from someone who knows what can and cannot be done to the wood and soneone to do the job . After cleaning I was thinking that placing cedar throughout eould be the smartest thing so as to discourage critters. I was thinking an application of Boracare on the existing wood after cleaning it up would be good . This will all have to be done in stages I'm sure . Just trying to get an idea of the cost and I lack the stamina to do for myself . Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.😀

Hi, I would suggest you sheet rock right over the wood unless you are attached to the wood look. Bright, clean, inexpensive and quick.

    Hi! Thank you.
No termites, no rodents , spiders hideout ? you betcha. Mold - yes
Dimensions 10 ft long 71/2 ft high 2 ft deep
included in the 10 feet is a 50" hanging rod (pipe) 21" wide shelf thing and a drawer thing that I thought was attached , now I'm not sure.
When I'm feeling brave,I will suss that out in a couple days
    > The opening is 59" wide and consists of 2 shutter doors
Filthy from most likely just from being neglected for many years Dirty as in , if you ever seen an old kitchen with old old wooden floors where the mop water isn't going to be clean after 5 rinses
