I've had restless legs at times, and can trigger the condition by consuming sugar, particularly if I'm less than fully hydrated.
The first time it happened to me was many years ago, as an aftereffect of the administration of a sodium pentothal anesthetic before surgery.
I suggest eliminating stimulating foods/spices (including sugar, salt, pepper, and alcohol) and staying well-hydrated to get to a clean baseline, and if that helps, then selectively reintroducing the eliminated foods to determine your tolerance.

I suggest an entirely different approach. Just as an experiment, try letting the restless movements really go--perhaps even into more extreme vibrations or thrashing around, wherever they want to go. You might try breathing more deeply and possibly making sounds. Sometimes a tendency to movements and restless energy is really a sort of message from your body that there is some suppressed energy in there that wants to be expressed and released. There may be feelings involved. Just a suggestion...

My sympathies!! I only had one incident in my life and that was years ago ...it is miserable!!!
I read up on it and started taking Calcium and Vitamin E and that was the end of my siege with R.L.S.
It is very bizarre that one part of one's body seems to want to go in the opposite direction of the rest of oneself.
