Subject: Standing Rock: "Our Hearts Are Not Defeated"
Hi Hoai-An,
The new administration's assault on our environment, and so many other things that most Americans hold dear, has begun. No one should doubt that our water, our air, our climate and our planet will all suffer meaningfully if those now running Washington are permitted to carry out their plans.
And yet, Tom Goldtooth, executive director of the Indigenous Environmental Network, a key Standing Rock organizer, spoke for us all when he said “Our hearts are not defeated. The closing of the camp is not the end of a movement or fight. It is a new beginning. They cannot extinguish the fire that Standing Rock started.” And, in fact, across the country, that fire is burning brightly in countless protests, calls to Congress, and town halls, as Americans give their representatives an earful, speaking truth to a regime that would rule with propaganda and greed.

On Mar. 4th: Come to the Standing Rock Legal Defense Fundraiser!
On Saturday, March 4th at 7pm, come to the First Presbyterian Church of San Anselmo to hear Attorneys Larry Bragman and Ford Greene give the legal low-down on DAPL now that the Trump administration has approved the pipeline and the main protest camp has been cleared. They'll join Erin Schrode in conversation. All were observer-participants at Standing Rock last fall. Donations will be contributed to the legal defense fund. See further details on the event HERE.
