Lynda Hopkins has a full page article in the Dec. Sonoma County Gazette, which is now on the newstands. I could not find it online yet. Among the things she commits herself to and writes are the following:
1. "...bring our community together."
2. "...a sinking feeling as it became clear that Donald Trump would become the next President."
3. "I am concerned about an administration that scapegoats immigrants and minorities..."
4. "I am concerned about an administration led by someone who believes climate change to be a hoax."
She offers a sound analysis about "where progressive go wrong" and offers five cogent steps toward "Making it Right."
Then she has a section called "Now, what to do?" Her first sentence: "As progressives, we must retake populism." She adds "I will fight to make sure that women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ community feel safe, respected, and equal in our society."
I recommend reading the entire article. Supervisor Hopkins concludes as follows: "If you are interested in serving in an appointed role in County government, please email me at [email protected]."
