sitting on Governor Brown's desk, SB 1107, can open the door to public campaign financing

a start - weigh in, thanks, jude

You know the stakes. If we don't change the way we finance election campaigns, our government will continue to be corrupted by wealthy special interests and their giant campaign contributions. It will never represent regular people like you and me.

Our landmark bill sitting on Governor Brown's desk, SB 1107, can change that by opening the door to optional public campaign financing for cities, counties, and the state, to get politicians out of the fundraising game.

But Governor Brown hasn't said whether he'll sign SB 1107, and time is running out. To ensure he signs, we must generate thousands of phone calls to him this week.

If you want to change the way we finance elections — and want California to set an example for the nation — we need you to do one of two things now:
    1) Sign up for Callfire phone bank training/refresher from home and then make calls! Callfire is easy because it dials for you and lets you transfer people directly to Governor Brown's office. You'll make calls 9am-5pm when his staffers are there to answer.
    or
    2) Give $3 or $300 TODAY to help pay for those Callfire calls! $3 pays for more than 40 calls; $300 pays for more than 4,000!
Clean Money volunteers like you will personally contact thousands of our most responsive supporters using our Callfire calling system. It automatically dials a Clean Money supporter, and when they agree to speak to the Governor's office you can automatically transfer them. If the supporter isn't home, the system leaves a message telling them how they can take action.

Our Callfire system generates ten times the number of transferred calls as other methods we've tried! But it costs $3/hour for each person using it, and even though that sounds low it really adds up given how many volunteers we have.

Can you either sign up for Callfire phone bank training/refresher or give $3 or $300 TODAY to help pay for those Callfire calls?

    Please help however you can.
Together, we will defeat secretive Big Money in politics. Together we will win.

    Nancy Neff
Volunteer Regional Coordinator, California Clean Money Action Fund

P.S. I know not everyone can donate or phonebank. Please sign the petition to Governor Brown if you haven't yet!
