I need to stop this disrespectful invasion into this category in it's tracks.

Barry agreed to let me start the Redpill Category and restrict it to RedPill People ONLY so people with great interest in and prior knowledge of Redpill subjects could get away from the tribe of people within wacco who kept repeating a specific pattern of righteous door slamming on entire subjects based on shallow research that always killed the conversation when it came to these controversial topics.

FROM THE INTRO OF THE RED PILL ROUNDTABLE:

'Classic dismissive, derogatory attitudes' frequently manifest as a 'nah nah gotcha!, i'm right you're wrong, case closed' tone. The usual wacco 'gotcha!' birds of prey who flock together just flew in here and their unwelcome tone will be deleted along with Shandi's permission to delete the off-topic post she erroneously started in the wrong place with regards the OP anyway.

The conversation killing pattern that bluepill 'gotcha!' energy always starts is why we broke away.

THE DIFFERENCE
The Redpill tone is kind to the person's interest and effort and adds something to the subject:
If I had found questions to the authenticity of Shandi's post I would have been respectful, validating of the effort and posted a link or two saying:

I'm not sure where the most accurate consensus is or on the Smithsonian involvement, but on a quick search I did find a lot of very curious evidence throughout history and around the world. There's a lot of valid clues to sort through in this subject amidst the usual disinfo."

The Bluepill tone is righteously dismissive of both the entire subject and the person bringing it up:
With no depth of awareness of the subject or any real interest in getting one, bluepills swoop in like birds of prey who have been anxiously waiting for any nugget of error as if one shallow search gives them 'gotcha' rights, then the flock profusely congratulates each other for it. Then slammed door defending by the flock begins no matter what more evidence is presented, it turns into a vengeful, spinning rats wheel and no Bluepill effort is ever made to kindly try to understand what Redpills find so convincing like Redpill people always do for each other.

I want to thank you for treating me with respect even when I'm in error by posting something I haven't vetted with Snopes. I usually do, just for the heck of it. I do actually believe that giant humanoids lived on this planet. We are so arrogant to believe that we began with the cave people. Almost as strange as believing that life began in the Garden of Eden, with Adam and Eve (who was manifested from his rib), and the snake "devil" who tempted Eve with the "forbidden" fruit of the "knowledge of good and evil". Think about that for a minute.....
Knowledge of good and evil is forbidden.

So, in a way it seems that "knowledge or wisdom" is to be kept from us, for our own good. I've never made that association before! Thank you again for a place to explore my limitations.

Why is Snopes some infallible, perfected resource of truth??

The main attribute of a Redpill person is that they question absolutely everything their mind wants to believe until ALL evidence they can find is gathered before deciding to go with any 'belief'. And even that is just temporary for always being on the lookout for evidence that might mean a revision is needed again.

It's both easier and harder than ever these days for much more truth available, but the minefield of clever disinfo also everywhere to additionally have to sort thru.

The main thing is to look at exactly the reasons you are choosing to believe something and if there's anything else valid you missed, or what you're ignoring or avoiding looking further because it appears to threaten the belief your ego feels more comfortable with.

For example in this case, what are the exact reasons you have stated you could put reliable faith in Snopes?
The answer might be revealing.
