Flat Screen Monitor Repair

Flat Screen computer monitor back light broken - half of screen not visible - so we're looking for affordable repair.

p.s. This computer is used by a disabled 20-year-old who has been housebound for nearly 7 years; the computer is her lifeline to the world. So if there's any place that provides cheap or free repairs / electronics for the disabled, I'd love to know about it.

Got a couple of leads so it looks like we might have this one solved. Many thanks to the community member who is donating a used monitor! And also to the community member who clued me in to this resource:

For anyone else looking for monitor repair, CRC does do some repairs though the person I spoke with on the phone wasn't sure if they can repair a monitor...but they also have monitors for sale so maybe that's a good resource for cheap replacements. I'll check it out and report back when I have learned more.

The things we've tried thus far have not panned out, and it turns out that the monitor would cost more to repair than to replace, so now we're on the lookout for a good replacement - but many thanks again to those who contacted me with options!
