Flu Shots?

Are you sure you had the flu Barry? There have been some nasty colds and other viruses going around but I hear the flu really knocks you out with fever, chills, aches and pains. I've had the cold and it lasted three weeks, but not the flu. And I did get a flu shot for the first time in many years.

I can't say for sure, but when I reviewed the flu vs cold symptoms, it seemed like a flu to me, complete fever, chills, aches and pains, Oy!

What's more, it then transitioned into a sinus infection. My Kaiser doc gave me some very helpful anti-biotics and nasal rinse.

I see I am late in this thread and take the risk of excoriation from the folks who believe it is all an evil plot...
Barry, sounds like a flu to me... I do not work in the medical field but I understand from those who do that there are usually several stains of virus that cause influenza. The "flu" shot is designed by those who create it for the strain that they predict will be the most likely to be prevalent. Before I retired I had the flu shot every year, and usually it was helpful in that often I did not get the flu. However, I had a flu shot 2 or 3 months ago but a few days ago got the flu anyway... so now I need to take it easy and heal... c'est la vie! Bruce Schmidt
