A lesser-known part of the genital integrity aka anti-genital-cutting movement is protecting the right of intersex children from gender assignment surgery and hormone treatments to force their bodies to conform to an arbitrarily-determined gender.

The majority of intersex adults surveyed on the issue have made it clear that they are OK with being intersex. Those that were "assigned" a gender as children are not at all happy about that and would have preferred to make that choice as adults.
