The one sentence I disagree with in the article is this one: "In the United States, the operation is often performed for hygiene reasons on infants." Not really true! Many parents are misinformed into consenting to having their kids circumcised with phony hygiene claims.The hygiene baloney is just a rationalization for a procedure that's really motivated by patriarchal religious superstition; greed (lots of easy money for doctors); lazy, ignorant conformity; and a largely unconscious anti-sex stance, with its attendant disgust with genitals. Otherwise, I think it's a pretty good article.
