Citibank Policies ~ Need Someone Familiar with Banklng Law

    Hello Community,

I really do not know where to start and am hoping someone out there has knowledge and time to give me some input.

First of all ... what agency governs Banks, anyway?

When there is a legitimate grievance that is met with stonewalling, double talk and delays, where does a citizen go to lodge a complaint?

Where can the average person go to become better educated as to what banks may and may not do?

Thanks in advance for any input, advice or knowledge inparted

(I just like this emoticon, it has no significance to this note)

Office of Comptroller of the Currency. Website is occ.treas.gov and they have a consumer section and also a section for filing a complaint/grievance.

Thank you so much for this link.

I feel that even knowing that there is a place where I can not only lodge a complaint but educate myself a bit will level this playing field a bit more.

That would explain some attitudes in that case.

So, next question ... is there a good, solid, decent bank out there?

Redwood Credit Union has worked well for me . . . even better now that they have a Sebastopol branch at the corner of Covert Ave and 116.
