Save Bradley Manning!

Please send letters to the editors of whatever papers you care to, through firedoglake.com, asking them to increase coverage of Manning's trial, and to the White House, asking the Commander-in-Chief of the US Armed Forces to pardon Bradley Manning. Below is the letter i've sent to the SF Chronicle and the Press Democrat:

Dear [Title] [Recipient],
I'm writing to ask you to cover Pfc. Bradley Manning's trial; if Manning really did what he's accused of,
he deserves a medal, not solitary. Manning is accused, basically, of whistle-blowing, the job of any
conscientious citizen, delivering the largest document dump in US history to Wikileaks. June 6 he'll
be in Ft. Meade for a pre-trial hearing. Please cover this hearing and his eventual court-martial in
September. In a court where the burden of proof is on the defendant, Pfc. Manning will be fighting
23 different charges including one of "aiding the enemy" If convicted, he could be sentenced
to life imprisonment. The corporate media have so far appeared to be intimidated, by the Pentagon
and their advertisers, into a "hands-off, eyes-off" approach to Manning's mistreatment both in his
confinement and in the courtroom, A fast, quiet conviction for Pfc. Manning could have lasting
consequences for future whistle-blowers, journalists and activists. Please bring Manning's plight
to the attention of the American public before it's too late. We already know "Military justice is
to justice as military music is to music." Please spare us another illustration of this aphorism.
