Their is a lot at stake with CVS and Chase

I have a lot of respect for the Pellini family. They have certainly done a lot for this town. I attended the meeting the other night and saw a lot of opinions on either side. I don't beleive the Mayor should have denied a video presentation by someone who did not want CVS. I found that offensive. I certainly agree that the owners of this property have the right to sell it.

BUT, I would like to point out in more detail why CVS is fighting so hard to be here at that location. It is prime for them to do their work. It was mentioned that they would contribute a hundred thousand dollars a year to the town. Well I think a lot of families including mine have spent that much in town over the years feeding our children and their friends. It is chump change compared what CVS will harvest out of our town and send back to the mothership corporation.

As an example last year I was at a Safeway in Windsor with my Son in Law to be. My daughter who will turn 26 this year has been blessed to remain on my health plan. My daughter needed a simple antibacterial cream for a rash on her face that we were picking up at the pharmacy. As this was not my regular pharmacy a misunderstanding took place and we were shocked at what happened. With my health care plan the prescription was five dollars. At first we were quoted the cost without my plan.

FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. Needless to say CVS is here to harvest MILLIONS from the aging population of this town.

Johnson and Johnson got caught with their pants down a few years ago. A woman that was paying a lot of money for drugs to make sure her colon rectal cancer did not return was out on her farm worming her sheep. The large box of pills were only about eight dollars to treat all of her sheep. As she looked at the label she realized the it was the same drug that she was taking to keep her cancer from coming back. J&J cried R&D and somehow the story went away. The sicker you are the more you pay to stay alive. The Health Care System is so broken.

Before the sub-prime destruction of our economy ( That Chase had a hand in) the leading cause for people losing their homes was because of a serious medical condition. How many stories have we heard where people that have lost everything now have to decide to take medication or eat.

Both sides of this debate will be affected by CVS and or any other DRUG store or Bank that sets up their operation. I realize that they are already here in town but is that the best we can do plus it's another store that sells more Chinese crap.

I heard the word integrity used during the presentation the other night. Both of these businesses have a lot of skeletons you can find with a little research. Bottom line they are here to take as much wealth out of this town as possible. Our country needs change.
Corporate Greed will continue unless we say no. I may not be able to stop them but I still have the right to not use them. I join with others that wish somehow something better that would bring a positive light on our town would be on that corner.

I had to speak my peace. Thank You All .
