2012 --
The first of the calendar year is always a time of reflection and projection, often quickly forgotten, but this year -- 2012 -- looms unforgettable, somehow more portentous, more uncertain, and surely more interesting. As we go into the new year with (at least in my case) some trepidation, I am being repeatedly reminded by signs and guides and readings that, in a time of uncertainty, it is preferable to maintain belief in positive resolutions and to project an attitude of gratefulness. When I opened myself to a New Year's message, this is what came to me:
Let go of self-pity;
Let go of sorrow;
Take only happiness
into tomorrow.
Let go of violence;
Let go of vengeance;
Strive for equality
and independence.
Make all your intercourse
Loving and giving;
Aim for the life that you
Yearn to be living.
Cherish those close to you
Through incarnations;
Savor the mulititudes
Of your relations.
Wallow in gratitude
For joy and pleasure;
Held with this attitude,
Each day's a treasure.
for the New Year, 2012,
Love, Carla
