    Occupy Next Level?

Does the Occupy movement go to the "next level" when "we" purchase a property such as Pellini [ x-ref. "How To Float A Municipal Bond To Purchase Pellini Property — WACCO thread ] within which we build our shared vision, perhaps even using the General Assembly means of decision making, at least to start the project — in principle — then, turn it over to a working committee, or committees? Or, a portion of Occupy can incorporate for the purpose(s) of doing such projects as suggested in "How To Float A Municipal Bond To Buy Pellini Property". Why not? Essentially this is actually being done throughout Occupy sites across the country, and, in the same manner, including practical way(s) of using property. For example, @ OWS with its kitchen, its library, its media and communications center, as example. We can establish a stable base for, and, in the name of "Occupy".

This way, we go from "tents" to "main street". And we shine a light on it, as our platform, from which we call on and demand from "corporate America" and "official polity" that they listen and meet our demands. We exemplify and demand shifting the wealth of the 1% to the needs and use of the 99%! As momentum builds through Occupy sites, we become a force to be reckoned with and police forces and politicians who direct them find it ever more difficult, if not impossible, to attack "Occupy".

Occupy becomes a piece of main street. Attacking "Occupy" becomes attacking "private property"! Envision America's Main Street reaction to such an assault on basic Constitutional tenets. Envision the use of such property for our needs and goals?! Grand vision? Revolution? Yes, and ... simple practical steps. Might we do it? If not us, who? If not now, when? On WACCO, recently suggested, it may be best to open a small business, rather than, or in addition to, a protest against big business. In the larger frame, we are actually on the same page.

    Re: Occupy Next Level?

There are definitely some good ideas here. But I suggest that a bond measure is not the way to do it. Bond measures - indeed, the whole bond system - is a very large part of the Problem. It is by means of the bond system that We, the People have become servitors, debtors, and Serfs to the Bond-holding Class. A better solution for raising money is to pool the monies of a few well-healed benefactors, who would would be willing to donate, & pool a substantial sum of money towards the cause.

Beyond that, Land Reform should be a point on the Agenda of the Occupy Movement. We the People need another Homestead Act - a Homestead Act of 2012, to open up the Commons to resettling and homesteading, for our millions of homeless, who have fallen through the cracks, under the present System.

Catherine Austin-Fitts of www.solari.com promotes the idea of Solari Circles or private investment clubs made up of people you know, like, and trust. These can be used to fund all sorts of community projects.

She points out that some of us have intellectual capital (activist types and often, younger, less financially established folk who are rich in their ideas for creating new workable models) and others of us have financial capital. And often the two do not mix. I see a new college major here for people who are adept at bringing together the two in multitudes of Solari Circles.

I invite dialogue as to how this can be accomplished.
