Hello neighbors,
I have not had a chance to be present at Occupy Sebastopol yet, but I am showing up today for the noon general assembly. You might want to be there too. I have heard that there are some wonderful connections and ideas swirling within the occupy space and I am looking forward to seeing what we do together as a community.
One concern I have is this: I have heard that there is a growing sentiment among the occupy group that we should move toward suing the City if there are attempts to remove or shift the occupation. Maybe even folks who want to provoke a situation where a law suit (or many law suits) can be filed. The idea being that draining the coffers of our local governments will mean that a new paradigm will have to take its place, hence meeting the goal of the group: a new way to governing.
This concerns me, as we would be suing ourselves and paying for it dearly. Is this really where our local occupy movement is heading?-Larkin
