    Taxes going down...

    Looks like sales tax is actually dropping 1% in California - if all goes as planned, that would be tomorrow! Most accounting software/cash registers need to be manually changed.

    Additionally, FUTA (Federal Unemployment Tax paid by employers) is going down from .8% to .6% for those Californians who also pay State Unemployment Tax. This is usually just a update for your accounting software by downloading new lists. Double check with your payroll department to make sure you are eligible for this.
