Report from my friend in Tokyo

This just came to me at Tuesday 6:05 PM PDT from Central Tokyo.

No radiation in Tokyo to speak of yet, but that is the main concern. With the nuclear plants just 150 miles to the north, a change in wind direction for just a short time will bring it here. At the local stores, there is no water, bread or rice....literally running out of food. We personally have enough food to last another day or two, but at this point, there's no way to replenish.

Planning to go to Kobe (south of Osaka). People are definitely starting to leave. This morning, the British embassy advised nationals to evacuate Tokyo. The University of Wisconsin is offering free flights to UW students back home. The big international banks have evacuated their staff. According to the news here in Tokyo, the main airport is packed with people looking to get on any flight. Not all of Tokyo has evacuated, but the exodus seems to have begun. Keep up in your prayers!
