Dutra. New Evidence Links Breast Cancer to Air Pollution

Moms For Clean Air of Petaluma has just posted a letter they sent to the Board of Supervisors regarding the Dutra proposal to their website www.momsforcleanair.net.

The letter gives details of a new study linking breast cancer to the form of air pollution called NOx. The Dutra proposal exceeds the "safe" NOx thresholds established by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. The letter also details recent research linking PM2.5, another major emission from the project to heart disease, diabetes and asthma.

They have also posted a letter of support from Dr. Brian Moench of the Utah Physicians for a Clean Environment, substantiating that the health concerns of the people of Petaluma in regard to the Dutra proposal are supported by recent scientific research.

Both links are prominently displayed on the home page of www.momsforcleanair.net.

Please write to the Board of Supervisors and urge them to consider this new information and vote "No" on Dutra on Tuesday 12/14.
