Although this is not a surprise to me, I think it's stupid on these people's part to oppose legalization of pot. First, there are few alcoholics that will switch to pot, though some will, and that's a good thing; but it won't affect alcohol sales significantly. And really, what's nicer for cottonmouth than a nice, cold, fizzy beer? Legalization of pot will just as likely increase beer sales as decrease them. Pot smokers tend to stay home to do their thing so bar hopping might decrease some, but I don't see that as any kind of problem for law enforcement. Quite the opposite.
