    Cosmography of the Local Universe

    Dear WaccoBBeans,

    This gorgeous video presents the results of astronomers' mapping the local universe of Galaxies! These are not stars. These are entire galaxies. Here is the YouTube URL for the video:

    As the video is playing, watch for the insignificant part played by our galaxy. Our galaxy is 100,000-120,000 light years in diameter.

    Our species has produced something of value in spite of the wars, genocides, global warming, species extinction, pollution, and overpopulation. This video is awe-inspiring. The narrator's French accent makes it a little difficult to understand, but the animation is the attraction. Enjoy!
