    The current HTML spec (that which is commonly referred to as "HTML5") includes an { audio } tag. File format support varies, try https://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_audio.asp for more info.

    Try https://www.catswhocode.com/blog/10-...-audio-players for a quick rundown of a few nicer players that include things like Flash (ugh) fallback for unsupported browsers. Media Element and audio.js look pretty nice.
