I have just moved to Graton, and I am interested in learning the art of bee keeping and honey.
would love to do a once a week apprenticeship with a local bee keeper.

Hi, Akiva,
Barry sent your email to me, but I am pretty new at this game, too. I would suggest joining the Sonoma County Beekeeper's Association - they have a mentor program and you'll be able to find someone with experience who will help you out. The folks at Beekind in Sebastopol are also very helpful and have a whole schedule of classes.
In general beekeepers are a helpful, friendly sort!
Good luck,
Denise

I would second what Denise posted.

Sonoma County Beekeepers meets every 2nd Monday of the month (May 14th) in Rohnert Park/
The website is full of great info. Then once you're ready, you'll take Serge LaBesque's ever-popular classes at SRJC.
And yes, beekeepers are a very welcoming bunch.
