Here is a lobbying report filed by Policy Directions (lobbyist) on behalf of Nestle Purina Petcare Co...
The lobbyist charges reported were $30,000 for work done for Purina in 2011.

And here is a link to lobbying expenses filed by the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association. 2006 - $100,000.00; 2007 - $120,000.00; 2008 - over $150,000.00; 2009 - $120,000.00; 2010 - less than $50,000; 2011 - less than $50,000.

They are constantly pushing their interests to Members of Congress. We can do the same. Not through paid lobbyists, but through sincere letters to your representatives in Washington. Keep telling them FDA Compliance Policies are illegal and absurd. Keep telling them the FDA must find the answer to the issues surrounding Chinese imported jerky treats. Keep telling them our pets are important.

Wishing you and your pet(s) the best,
