    "mature" Shiba Inu Dog

We have a 20lb, medium sized, beloved pure bred Shiba Inu who is about eleven years old. We have moved him around the world with us (japan, australia, & london) as he is very sweet and adaptable. Unfortunately our family will be traveling again, but this time with a toddler and young baby, and we are simply unable to provide the love and attention he needs. Your research on this breed will show you that they are in fact very bright & clever, rather low maintenance and not your typical man's best friend. They are not super bouncy and eager to please like say a labrador and rarely "bark". They are ideal for someone who really likes a cat's personality in a dogs body. He does like to fetch balls, take walks, "wrestle" and get pet on his terms. He requires a walk a day and is very clean- prefers to step around puddles as he hates water. He will need to live indoors & will require a dog door at night or to be let out- although he is capable of holding "it" for hours. He is completely potty trained and very mellow so indoors, apartments & hotels suit him. It would not work to move him into a home with another dog full time although he is sociable in short spurts with other nice dogs. His ideal home needs to be mellow and does not include young children under eight. He is not aggressive to children but does not like them poking at him and has growled before. Ours is trained off leash but he requires a firm leader role to avoid him acting as leader. He has lots of tricks; rollover, walks on hinds, crawls, shakes, speaks, etc and can be taught many more. It breaks our heart to have to find a new home as we've had him since birth- but you should expect him to provide at least 5 years of happiness and joy. All current shots and has 100% healthy... https://www.dogbreedinfo.com/shiba.h...scue.htmlemail or text (707)32-6574

He's beautiful!! Wouldn't get on with our feisty male though. I'll pass it on to folks I know. Best of luck in rehoming him
