Petition to end AFGHANISTAN "war" funding

Please go to this site to sign this very important petition.
kucinich.us - A Petition Requesting the U.S. Congress to Stop Funding Additional Troops in Afghanistan.

This week they will vote on it. No matter what your foreign policy preference, we cannot afford it! Tell Woolsey & Thompson ASAP, no "war" funding, only exit and reconstruction funding. A declaration of a cease fire is the ONLY safe way out.

    THANK YOU!!!

    Colleen Fernald

    A PETITION REQUESTING
    THE U.S. CONGRESS
    TO STOP FUNDING ADDITIONAL TROOPS
    IN AFGHANISTAN.

Whereas, Congress has the responsibility to decide whether to go to war under Article I, Section 8; and

Whereas, it’s not up to the United States to be able to choose the government of other countries, and

Whereas, Congress has the responsibility to focus on conditions at home in America, addressing infrastructure, putting millions of Americans back to work, saving millions of people from foreclosure and helping 47 million people to receive health care; and

Whereas, Congress must acknowledge public sentiment in our communities, where people are desperate for jobs, trying to protect their wage levels, worried about their investments, their savings, their security; now therefore,

I STRONGLY URGE MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO VOTE AGAINST ANY FUNDING FOR ADDITIONAL TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN AND THAT CURRENT FUNDING BE REASSESSED AND REDIRECTED TO THE ECONOMIC NEEDS OF AMERICANS AT HOME.

Re: Petition to end AFGHANISTAN "war" funding

The US Congress approved the war in Afghanistan and continues to do so - that's why they repeatedly approve the funding for it.

As the victor in the war, the United States allowed The People of Afghanistan to choose their own government. Remember all those black fingers at the polls?

Geneva Conventions require that we, as the "occupying power", maintain security until the occupied nation's new government can provide for its internal security and national defense.

If the United States walks out of its Geneva Convention responsibilities, that act will have many repercussions.

On another note, the United States Government has no legal authority to rescue people from home foreclosure by the forced redistribution of wealth.

The United States Government has no legal authority to engage in the health care business via the forced redistribution of wealth. It is an unjust and illegal act.

If the US government is concerned about jobs and investments - all they need do is STOP TAKING OUR MONEY.

    It's that simple.
