    Guerneville Sustainable Youth Core

Thanks to those of you who supported GSYC (Guerneville Sustainable Youth Core) over the last couple of months. We look forward to creating links with a Graton, Forestville and Sabastopol Sustainable Youth Groups if there are any.????

Our website is still being worked on but you can see it at: www.gsycbayarea.co.cc

We had a wonderful time volunteering and helping to coordinate the Monte Verde Festival that just happened. It was great to reach out to the community and receive a positive response. Our Volunteer group is aged 9 - 22 years.

So far we have managed to create a Youth Community Center in a main street store front. We have been offered free rent for 6 months if we renovate the interior and pay the back water and electric. We have two licensed contractors overseeing our work, but could use more help. The Community Center will feature a Internet Lounge, Solar Products Store, Renewable Energy Courses, Green Industry Internship Program and much more. We hope to host other youth from Oakland and other parts of the city next year for a Green Program and Festival.

We also started the Guerneville Farmers Market behind the Russian River Gas Station on River Road in East Guerneville and hope to be able to offer residents affordable Fruits and Veggies so we can all eat better. We need other vendors in order to provide a wider variety, so let us know and we can help you with space. Some of the spaces are only $5 a day shared and also we can sell for you.

We have also created a small Youth Meal and Food Bank for those under 21's needing nutritiion and balanced meals. We need vitamin donations though.

Together we built a small Solar Generator and a small Bio Diesel Processor. Looking forward to delivering more hands on courses like these. The Solar Generator only costs $300 to build and the processor $275! We are currently working on a Solar Bike.

We are currently operating under another non-profit and are fundraising to get the $700 the government requires to file our non-profit paperwork.

We appreciate the fruit and materials donations received and this really helps us keep going. WE WANT A SUSTAINABLE RUSSIAN RIVER!!!

It is fantastic that you all are doing this, I have been advocating for environmental youth cores for years and now they are starting to sprout up everywhere! Yeah!
How do we donate to your youth core and will it be tax deductable?
    GO for it!
    Many Blessings, Magick
    PS.
It is really exciting but problems will arise and it is best to have a method of decision making and conflict resolution in place. Do you need help with that? Perhaps consensus based training?
