Do your raise your own meat or know someone who does? If you raise your own animals for meat - and slaughter them yourself - let us know if you'd like to share your experiences in an upcoming documentary.
"Meat Utopia" begins production this September and will show how Sonoma County families are raising and butchering their own meat. The film is about connection with food: what it means to adults and kids to have a direct, even intimate, relationship with the animals you're raising for sustenance.

The producers of "Meat Utopia" are seeking a few good families who are willing to open their farms and lives on camera. The film will trace the raising and consumption of meat from an animal’s birth to a communal to barbecue. The film is being made by a local Sonoma County trio: producer Eric McIntyre, director Brenden Hamilton (Iran: Hot Tea, Cool Conversations), and award-winning writer Michael Shapiro (“A Sense of Place”).
