    Coraline (movie) - OMG!

I saw Coraline, the newish HD 3-D movie last night and OMG! It's amazingly realistic! And the director has clearly done too many drugs!

Its a rich, entertaining and fairly deep story combined with amusement park level special effects! I felt like I had been through a work out after this!

Maybe I'm a be slow to catch on, but this seems like major new trend that I'm sure we'll see a lot more of. I'm already eager to see some new 3D HD movies coming out soon including Monsters vs Aliens.

Have you seen it yet? What did you think??

I agree. Saw it Saturday in Petaluma in must-see 3D. I do find the medium tiring on the eyes, but it's worth it.

Coraline is multi-layered, and not just visually! Great story, great characterization, wonderful whimsy.

I've been touting it at work and socially ever since.

Loved the creepy needles and the visual metaphor of sewing.

Was passing a woman walking her Scottie on Joyce Road Sunday. Had to stop and ask her if she'd seen it yet. She hadn't and I gushed about it to her, a total stranger.

A caution though. Might be too freaky for very young children.

    Cheers,

I agree that it is too much for young ones... I took my 4,6, and 9 year old kids with me... The 6 year old got frightened more tnan the others... but it was great!!!

Vivid colors, great effects! I loved it

We took our 6 year old and friend to see it. I agree....my six year old did get scared at the end.

It is the longest stop film animation to date!
The cherry blossoms were all hand painted popcorn.......everything was handmade!

It is based on a book by Neil Gaiman........love his work! He also wrote Stardust.

Wonder about the sweaters and gloves?

YouTube - Coraline : Sweater XXS

If you like Gaiman check out the classic Sandman series. They have them in hardback "collections" in libraries. Do read them in order.
