Obama transition health care e-forum for Waccobb community

As you may have heard from earlier announcements here on Waccobb and articles in other media, the Obama transition team has been asking local communities to hold public forums on health care. The purpose of these forums is to generate ideas for reform and provide input for the Obama administration's policy related to health care; the time frame for holding them is December 15 to 31, 2008.

Melissa Patterson, a local naturopathic physician, hosted one of these forums in Sebastopol on December 28th. Unfortunately, the turnout was low. Those in attendance thought that it might be helpful to expand the forum to the Waccobb community so that more people can participate and contribute.

Those participating in the forums are asked to respond to seven prepared questions provided by the transition team. These questions will be posted as separate topics following this one, with the responses generated at the in-person forum included to help generate ideas and reduce redundancy.

If you would like to contribute a response to a question, please use the "reply publicly" button. (This will make it easier to collate and submit them to the transition team.) Be sure to keep the response focused on the specific question.

Do keep in mind that these are public responses on a public board. While brief stories illustrating an experience pertinent to the questions are invited, something that is sensitive, personal, etc., should wait for an appropriate venue. If you want to discuss (or argue about) the responses that are contributed, please do it somewhere else such as a separate post or by private email.
