May I suggest you take yourself and your ten BFFs ANY AFTERNOON to the following location in Sebastopol which is a HOT SPOT “FREE SPEECH ZONE” because 1) of the traffic and 2) the tradition of demonstrating at this spot.

The location is easy to find. Even out-of-towners will love its convenience.

It is the main intersection in Sebastopol.

1)It is Main Street (aka Highway 116) at Bodega Avenue (Highway 12). These two major roads cross. The landmark is the electronic TIME & TEMP sign. (From Santa Rosa, take Highway 12 West.)
2)Park anywhere.
3)Take a position on any corner. Hold up your NO ON 8 SIGN. (Be creative. Make one if you haven't got one from the Democratic Headquarters across from the Post Office in downtown Santa Rosa.)
4)Stay as long as you feel comfortable; it is an invigorating intersection. You will enjoy the response from the 1000s of drivers.
5)It is recommended that people come there in waves at any time they wish.
6)No other “organizing: is needed.
7)The intersection is an INFO TARGET. Just show up. Stand there. Smile. Wave.

Thank you. I am a 70-year-old gay man who has lived with his partner of thirty years in Sebastopol for, well, thirty years. Our health access to each other, our eldercare, our retirement and inheritance rights depend on you. We have been civil rights activists since the early 1960s, and now we need a tiny bit of payback. To us gays, Prop 8 is a life-and-death issue.
