We'll be having another house concert at our house in south Sebastopol on Monday night, October 20. The performers are Sara Grey and Kieron Means.

Sara Grey grew up in New Hampshire, but has lived in Scotland for the past 38 years, bringing traditional American music with her. She’s been a mainstay of the UK folk scene, singing ballads from America, Ireland, and Scotland and accompanying herself by frailing a 5-string banjo. Kieron Means, as Sara’s son, has been immersed in folk music all of his life. He grew up in Britain gaining a great love of the music of American and British traditions as well as the contemporary scene. In addition to being a brilliant interpreter of traditional songs, he has written some wonderful songs that blend effortlessly with the rest of his repertoire. Sara and Kieron accompany each other both instrumentally and vocally. It's sure to be a wonderful evening!

Here's their web site; check them out yourself:

As usual, admission will be $15, 100% of which goes to the performers. We'll start the music at 7:30 with the goal of getting everyone out the door by 10:00, so you'll be able to get enough sleep even though it's a weeknight. Sorry about the Monday night, but it was the ONLY night I could get them.

If you haven't been to our house concerts before, they're held in an intimate setting, 30 to 35 people maximum, with excellent acoustics, unamplified. If you'd like to attend, please email me, Jon Berger, [email protected], and let me know how many of you there will be. You don't have to pay in advance, but if you tell me you're coming and your plans change, please let me know so that I can give your seat to someone else. And of course, please feel free to forward this to anyone you think would enjoy this concert. This should be a great evening!
