    Quiet restaurant, please!

Some of my favorite restaurants, like K & L Bistro and Monti's, are so noisy you can barely have a conversation. I want to go out with old friends next week to enjoy good food and also catch up on what's new. Anybody know of a quiet restaurant? (Not quiet because nobody goes there, but because they have good acoustics.)
    Thanks!

And I suggest you have it catered and let us know how it went.
(somebody was offering her/his services recently)

That's an idea...I've never done it. The cost might discourage me from trying it, but the food would be better!

Choosing the right table makes a big difference. At K & L Bistro, table #1 (the first on the banquette by the door) is very pleasant, sound-wise, as is the table by the kitchen.
There are areas at Saint Rose where conversation is entirely easy and pleasant. Simply tell them what you want--i.e., a quiet place where we can talk easily--when you make the reservation.

I'm not a fan of Monti's so I can make recommendations there but there are areas at Restaurant Eloise that are perfect for conversation. At Mosaic in Forestville, too.

Have you tried St Rose, 3 miles out of town west of sebastopol...very nice space, good food and if it is warm you can eat outside in the garden, very romantic

I was looking at the postings on the bulletin board at Laguna Farm yesterday and there was a flyer from an aspiring private chef looking to prepare meals for you and your guests at your home. Sorry I don't have more information, perhaps another Wacco reader knows the details, or you could stop by and look at the board.

Peter Lowells in Sebastopol is a quiet restaurant. On the high end scale, John Ash is quiet. And Eloise is probably quiet because of their carpet, but I haven't been since they took over that spot.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I want to try all of the places I haven't been to yet, like Eloise.
