Leonard Shlain in his alphabet/goddess book discussed the hemispheres of the brain in relation to social harmony and discord. Engineer-philosopher Arthur M. Young posited an arc of evolution or a learning curve in which integration occurs on the upward stroke toward "home." Orgone energy researcher James DeMeo strongly correlated desert climates with patristic emotionally armored violence. Delta (freedom) brain waves through theta (whole body), alpha (subconscious) and beta correlate to the curve, the human integral starting the upward octave as high-frequency gamma. Richard Tarnas, author of The Passion of the Western Mind, strongly correlated historical and astrological signs of the times with a future integration or return to harmony or equilibrium between hemispheres of world and brain. The integration as a synergetic equilibrium involves not only hemispheres, however, but the entire human autopoietic or self-organizing and -propagating unit or monad, Leibniz' term for holographiclike micro-macro behavior. Those who have experienced conscious breathing and a different kind of relaxation understand the future human integration.
