The two-day class covers in the fundamentals of furniture making, using time-honored joinery, taught in a supportive shop environment with a maximum of 12 women. We will begin building a bench that can be used as seating for up to 2 people or as a small table.
Class fee is $275- plus a $25- materials fee All tools are supplied.
- Learn to use traditional woodworking hand tools; chisels, dovetail saws, bench and block planes, drills.
- Make mortise and tenon joinery with tusk wedges and foxtail wedges
- Develop the skills and understand the process of building furniture with traditional joinery.
Debey Zito, a professional furniture maker who has who has been designing, building and teaching furniture making for over 40 years, is the instructor.
Upon completion, a monthly Saturday and/or Sunday class is available.
The studio is in Sebastopol, one hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
