    Healthcare for All Californians?

So now we can expect that Trump and his GOP allies will dismantle the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), which will throw a bunch of people out of coverage, especially those with existing conditions and too poor to afford insurance. My personal feeling was that the ACA was a nasty compromise that left the insurance companies in control, did nothing to control drug prices and relied on the idea that young, healthy people would buy insurance instead of having to pay a tax (which is much less.) While the ACA could be tuned up, it will now face the axe.

We should remember that Canada's national health program started in one province and spread. Is it time for 'Covered California' to become healthcare for all Californians? This subject is way over my pay grade but going backwards on the ACA will not be progress. Even now, Canadian Health Care is administered by the provinces though mostly paid for by the federal government.

The chart below illustrates that the US is way out of wack, especially because US healthcare is rated 37th in the world.
