Are there recycling organizations out there that can pick up my useless old dryer? Or is there another way to get rid of broken appliances?
Thank you!

Hi Edward,
If you or someone else finds an answer to your question about disposing the dryer, please let me know. My gas dryer just broke, so I need to replace it. Might you have any leads on places to buy used dryers and someone to install it? You can reach me at 829-8185
Thanks

Redwood Empire disposal says they will pick up bulky items like couches & mattresses from residential customers. They do not mention dryers, but it's worth a try. The number to schedule pickups is 585-0291.

The Sonoma Co. Waste Management Agency has this website which describes how to recycle appliances, including clothes dryers which are located in various towns:

This website of the Sonoma County Waste Management has great tips on how to recycle old appliances. Re-Store, the Habitat for Humanity warehouse in Santa Rosa, often has used dryers in stock.

Hi Shepherd, I can put in the dryer for you in trade and pick one up for you if you like.
There is a nice used appliance place in South Santa Rosa just west of 101 at the end of Sebastopol road on the North side.
It is really important to install the dryer duct properly to save energy

Thanks, AJ. With the help of someone, we were able to install the dryer. Carolyn Sell and her husband David were also kind enough to pass a dryer on to me. So what had been the discomfort of not having a dryer as the rains head our way became an example of community assistance, as your email is. I have also called some scrap metal places who pick up old dryers, which I hope will happen soon.

Nery DeLeon just came by with his truck and dolly and took my old clothes dryer away, for free. He can be reached at (415) 726-3022. His card says "we recycle all types of scrape metal for free." He is a pleasant man and arrived on time, as scheduled.
