The Tortoise and The Hare

Both hearts checked before the shot of the starter’s gun,

The goal of discourse here is to both have fun.

One is the slow turtle and one is the quick hare,

Two worlds apart perhaps, but neither one of us care.

To win here is folly now and with nothing else to gain,

Along this smooth soul-path we pace exactly the same.

We're moving in sync now to life’s slow won race,

As smiles beam brightly upon each creature’s face.

Our spirit of love runs quite high upon the air,

A shell or a pelt, the moon couldn’t give a care.

Together as one we move into love’s time,

Helping every small creature along life’s hurried line.

With turtle feet in, and rabbit’s foot out,

Onward we journey without a doubt.
