My Celtic trio, WILD GREEN is donating time for the fundraiser at The Sebastopol Grange on March 16th because we want to support their effort to fight factory farms and GMOs and to promote small farms, heirloom seeds, sustainable community and healthy food.
It's been a few years since a windstorm blew me down here from the foothills of Mt. Adams and the Columbia River (yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it), and I came here with a sense that I could become a part of something bigger than myself working toward a sustainable world.
My first visit to the Grange was in December 2012. I described what I wanted to a group of people at my dinner table, telling them I didn't want to listen to people who said there was no hope left for the planet, and that I was only interested in working with people who took positive action toward changing things for the better. A woman at my table said, "We create hope through our actions." I joined the Grange.
